Words of Life

GoodSense English helps you express your meaning clearly. As our motto says, "We bring meaning to your world."

We want to share with you
words of life

that will bring meaning to your
life.

There is one God, the Creator, who loves every person.  He has revealed himself in various ways, and he desires to have a
personal relationship
with you.
You can have this relationship with God by
accepting what he has told us
about himself.
God has
revealed himself
in three ways:

Through his creation:

The beauty and complexity of the creation reveals the power and glory of God the Creator. His imagination and genius are without limit.

Through his words in the Bible:

The Bible was written over a period of more than 2000 years by more than 50 different authors, yet it has a consistent message from start to finish.

Through his Son, Jesus Christ:

God himself came to Earth in the form of a man 2000 years ago.  Because Jesus Christ was 100% God and 100% human, he showed us what God is like.  He was
"God with us."
He performed many miracles which proved he was God.

Nevertheless, many people did not want God to rule over them.  Although he lived a perfect life, Jesus was killed -- nailed to a wooden cross (a form of execution practiced by the Roman Empire) -- but
God raised him to life again three days after he died.
Many people were eyewitnesses to these historic events. Then Jesus ascended to heaven where he lives today with his father God.

The Bible describes Jesus as the
 "Word" of God.

God has spoken to us through Jesus.  Jesus was the full expression of God. He continues to be the revelation of God today.

Just as your writing expresses who you are -- your mind and heart -- God's "words" express his character and purposes. Just as people's words reveal their heart and mind, Christ as "the Word"
reveals the heart and mind
 of God.

One of Jesus' contemporaries when he lived on Earth was a man named John.  John's report about what he witnessed during that time is included in the Bible.  In chapter 3, verse 16 of John's book, he records that Jesus said (speaking of himself),

"God
so loved
the world that he gave his one and only son, that
whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have
eternal life."

How

does a person find eternal life through Jesus Christ?

First, you need to understand that
God loves you
so much that he was willing to give his own son's life for you.

However, there is something that
 blocks you
from having a personal relationship with God.

God is perfect and holy, and you are not. There is a big
gap between you and God.

The Bible says the reason for this gap is because of your sin.  Sin is thoughts and actions that are morally wrong according to God's standards.

You are no different from anyone else in this regard.  No one is perfect. The Bible says in the book of Romans, chapter 3, verse 23, that
"Everyone has sinned

and falls short of the glory of God."

There is nothing you or any other human can do to eliminate your own sin.  You cannot make yourself
good enough
to please God.  No matter how hard you try, you are unacceptable to him.
You cannot bridge the gap between you and God by your
own effort
.
This gap has serious consequences.  The Bible says in Romans 6:23 that "the wages of sin is
death."

Wages are something we earn.  The Bible makes it clear that what we earn for our sin is death -- both physical death and spiritual death, which means eternal separation from God. There is no worse fate.

However, there is
good news!
God loves you so much that he has provided the bridge across the gap for you. This bridge is Jesus Christ.

Through his death, Jesus paid for everyone's sins.  He offers this payment for sin as a
free gift
to anyone who wants to receive it.
You receive the gift by
believing
in your heart that Jesus is God and that he died for your sin. If you believe that Jesus was sent by God to bridge the gap, then your sin no longer separates you from God.
You can have a personal relationship with God through Jesus the bridge.  In addition to telling us that "the wages of sin is death," Romans 6:23 also says "but the
gift of God
is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Jesus says in John 14:6, "I am
the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me."

If you believe in the "Word of Life," Jesus Christ, you will truly find a
meaningful life.
